RAILWAY WATER TOWER AND LOCOMOTIVE MONUMENTS IN TŁUSZCZ
The history of Tłuszcz is closely connected with railways. The city's rapid development began after the opening of the Petersburg-Warsaw Railway in 1862. New houses and railway workshops were gradually built. To ensure proper operation, the locomotive depot needed water resources. In the 19th century, two wooden water towers were built near the station and a third one closer to the locomotive depot. The one now considered the city's landmark was built in 1921. A real treat for railway enthusiasts are two rare locomotive specimens – the steam locomotive Ty2-220 from 1943 and the Hutnik 4010 locomotive from 1958.
