RAILWAY WATER TOWER AND LOCOMOTIVE MONUMENTS IN TŁUSZCZ
Tłuszcz's history is closely connected with railways. The city's particularly intensive development occurred after the opening in 1862 of the Petersburg-Warsaw Railway. New houses and railway workshops were gradually built. To ensure proper operation, the locomotive shed needed water supplies. In the 19th century, two wooden water towers were built near the station and a third closer to the locomotive shed. The one now considered the city's emblem was built in 1921. A true treat for railway enthusiasts are also two rare locomotives – the Ty2-220 steam locomotive from 1943 and the Hutnik 4010 locomotive from 1958.
