RAILWAY WATER TOWER AND LOCOMOTIVE MONUMENTS IN TŁUSZCZ
The history of Tłuszcz is strongly linked with the railway. The city's intensive development began after the opening of the Saint Petersburg-Warsaw Railway in 1862. Gradually, new houses and railway workshops were built. To ensure proper functioning, the locomotive depot needed water supplies. In the 19th century, two wooden water towers were built near the station and a third one closer to the locomotive depot. The one considered today the city's landmark was built in 1921. A real treat for railway enthusiasts are two rare locomotives – the Ty2-220 steam locomotive from 1943 and the Hutnik 4010 locomotive from 1958.
