RAILWAY WATER TOWER AND LOCOMOTIVE MONUMENTS IN TŁUSZCZ
The history of Tłuszcz is closely linked to the railway. A particularly intensive development of the town occurred after the opening in 1862 of the Petersburg-Warsaw Railway. Gradually, new houses and railway workshops were built. To ensure proper operation, the locomotive depot required water supplies. Therefore, in the 19th century, two wooden water towers were built near the station area and a third closer to the locomotive depot. The one considered today the city's hallmark was built in 1921. A real treat for railway enthusiasts are also two rare locomotive specimens – steam locomotive Ty2-220 from 1943 and locomotive Hutnik 4010 from 1958.
