RAILWAY WATER TOWER AND LOCOMOTIVE MONUMENTS IN TŁUSZCZ
The history of Tłuszcz is closely linked to railways. The city's intense development began after the opening of the Petersburg–Warsaw Railway in 1862. New houses and railway workshops gradually appeared. To ensure proper operation, the steam locomotive depot needed water supplies. In the 19th century, two wooden water towers were built near the station and a third closer to the locomotive depot. The one now considered the city's landmark was built in 1921. A true delight for railway enthusiasts are two rare locomotives – the Ty2-220 steam locomotive from 1943 and the Hutnik 4010 locomotive from 1958.
