RAILWAY WATER TOWER & LOCOMOTIVE MONUMENTS, TŁUSZCZ
Tłuszcz’s history is closely tied to the railway. The town developed rapidly after the Petersburg–Warsaw Railway opened in 1862. New homes and railway workshops gradually appeared. To operate properly, the engine depot needed water supplies. Two wooden water towers were therefore built near the station in the 19th century, with a third near the locomotive shed. The tower now considered the town’s landmark was built in 1921. Railway enthusiasts will also enjoy two rare locomotives: Ty2-220 steam locomotive from 1943 and Hutnik 4010 locomotive from 1958.
